Fly vs lion

On the way to uni today, my husband was sharing stuff with me.

He said, imagine flies buzzing around you, up under left and right. Annoying kan? Your mind will be consumed by them, not being able to do anything! Everywhere you look, everything you do - there's flies! AAAAAAA!!


But annoying as it may be, if suddenly comes a lion chasing you - you'll suddenly forget about the flies even though they're STILL buzzing around you, its no longer THE thing that consumes you - overwhelmed by the lion coming your way.


The reality of aakhirah to the sahabah radhiyaallu anhum is akin to being chased by the lion - it it so staggering, so real, that even though this worldly life maybe buzzing around them, they are not consumed by them - overwhelmed by the bigger picture, the real purpose of life coming their way.

Aakhirah is coming our way.


Salama ibn Dinar Al ‘Araj, from the major ulama and scholar of hadeeth, said: Every bounty of Allah, if it does not bring you closer to Allah, then it is a misfortune and an affliction upon you. Everything Allah has blessed you with, no matter how small or simple, if it doesn’t bring you to Allah, it’s a problem, and Allah has established a proof against you 

From these favours are: health, time, wealth Therefore it is upon us to realize the tremendous favours Allah has blessed us. Dunya for aakhirah.

 للَّهُمَّ انْفَعْنِي بِمَا عَلَّمْـتَنِي وَ عَلِّمْنِي مَا يَنْفَعُنِي

.اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ فَهْمَ النَّ بِيِّينَ وَ حِفْظَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ لِسَانِي عَامِرًا بِذِكْرِكَ وَ قَلْبِي بِخَشْيَتِك. .

 َ.إِنَّكَ عَلَى مَا تَشَاءُ قَدِيرٌ وَ أَنْتَ حَسْـبُنَا اللَّهُ وَ نِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ

أَللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْلَنَا مَا أَخْطَأْنَا وَمَا تَعَمَّدْنَا وَمَا أَسْرَرْنَا وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنَّا، أَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ.

أَللّٰهُمَّ مُقَلِّبَ الْقُلُوبِ ثَـبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلـى دِينِكَ.

سُبْحَانَهُ مِنْهُ يُسَبِّحُ الرَّعْدَ بِحَمْدِهِ.

أَللّٰهُمَّ لاَ تَقْـتُلْنَا بِغَضَبِكَ، وَلاَ تُهْلِكْنَا بِعَذَابِكَ، وَعَافِنَا قَبْلَ ذٰلِكَ

أَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِيهِ.

أَللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّكَ تَرى وَلاَ تُرى، وَأَنْتَ بِالْمَنْظَرِ الأَعَلـى، وَأَنَّ إِلَيْكَ الْمُنْـتَهى وَالرُّجْعى، وَأَنَّ لَكَ الآخِرَةَ وَالأُولـى، وَأَنَّ لَكَ الْمَمَاتَ وَالْمَحْـيَا، رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَذِلَّ وَأَخْزى.

Oh Allah! Make useful for me what you have taught me and teach me knowledge that will be useful to me.

Oh Allah! I ask you for the understanding of the prophets and the memory of the messengers, and those nearest to you.

Oh Allah! Make my tongue full of your remembrance and my heart with consciousness of you.

Oh Allah! You do whatever you wish, and you are my availer and protector and best of aid.

O Allah! Forgive us for what we did by mistake and what we did on purpose, and what we concealed and what You know more of than us, You are the Foremost and You are the Last, there is no god but You

O Allah the Transformer of hearts! Make my heart steadfast on Your religion.

Praise be to Him – the thunder declares His glory.

O Allah ! Do not kill us with Your wrath, and do not destroy us with Your punishment, and grant us amnesty before that.

O Allah ! I seek Your protection from any evil that is in it.

O Allah ! You see but cannot be seen, and You are at the highest viewpoint, and to You is the final destination and return, and Yours are the end and the beginning, and Yours are the place of death and life. O Lord! I seek Your protection from being disrespected and disgraced.
