i found this very interesting..
especially the last portion..
it made me realize that i have not
yet seen Islam as it should be..
and it made me really really really
yearn to see Islam as seen by the
eyes and hearts of the great sahabats..

the lemah iman phenomenon

by seconds literally slaps you harder in the face??
crappos..

my friend gave me this book tau..
ubat lemah iman..
and yeah, sure we learnt about iman and its rukun and all
way back in primary or sth..
but i never did any er, introspection..
where my level of iman was..
huhu..
imankuuuuu...

nway, i just thought of sharing some of the
bad signs indicating that someone
tgh "lemah iman"

there were twenty something, but i think i'll just
give 5 first because i dont think i can go on reading!!

1. keras hati

• when death does not affect you in any way
• when zikir jd cam sth yg sgt berat
• bile doa or solat nk cepat habis
• when we dont understand the meaning of the dua we read and becomes merely a ritual thing..

(hadith): Tidak akan diterima doa dari hati yang lalai dan main-main
(at-Tirmidhy)

• sgt malas dan bosan nk baca and dgr psl Quran
• tak put in effort to menghubungkan diri dgn Quran
• tak tersentuh bile baca Quran
• bile bukak je Quran, dia jadi lalai

(2:74) Kemudian setelah itu hatimu menjadi keras
seperti batu, bahkan lebih keras lagi..

2. tak tekun and malas dalam ibadah

• tak dapat concentrate
• tak contemplate on meanings (again-when all the bacaan's becomes a routine thing)
• meremehkan waktu tepat untuk ibadah

3. masalah remeh TAPI tension, nervous. anxious tak tentu arah *OUUUCCHHHHH*

(hadith) Iman itu adalah kesabaran dan kelapangan hati

4. gila kuasa dan publikasi
there is a difference between someone who is capable of handling the
responsibilty(mcm Nabi Yusuf) and someone who yearns it for glory sake..

"Sesungguhnya kamu sekalian akan berhasrat mendapatkan
kepimpinan, dan hal ini akan menjadi penyesalan di Hari Qiamat.
Maka alangkah baiknya yang pertama (referrin to dptkan kepimpinan)
dan alangkah buruknya yang terakhir (referrin to penyesalan)"
(Al-Bukhary 6729)

"Jika kamu sekalian kehendaki,akan kukhabarkan
kepadamu tentang kepimpinan dan apa kepimpinan itu. Pada awalnya
ia adalah cela, keduanya penyesalan, ketiga azab Hari Qiamat,
kecuali org adil.."

"Barangsiapa suka jika hamba2 Allah bangkit berdiri
baginya, maka hendaklah die menempati rumah dari api neraka.

5. when we wana do something, our judgement is
based on whether something is "dosa or not" rather than
"baik atau lebih baik"

balikkanlah hati kami untuk taat kepada kepadaMu...

Unto You we put our trust,
and unto You shall we return..

May we return to You

(2:2) zalikal kitab..
which literally means, itu buku

if someone asks for your car keys and you go,
"itu haa, kunci"

that means that person has to make
effort to go take that key..

zalikalkitab..
same thing..
if we want to understand, appreciate
and take benefit from the beautiful words of The All-Mighty
then we must put much effort..

how prominent people such as Al-Kawarizmi
(the algebra guy,astronomer and the geographer guy),
Al-Biruni (the mathematics,astronomy,
medicine,physics and history guy..) etc.
became soo diverse in fields of study,
and capable in coming up with fundamentals of most things we learn today,
were because they studied the quran all their lives!

(3:74) "He selects for His Mercy whom He wills
and Allah is the owner of great Bounty"

due to their devoteness and insyaAllah piety,
Allah made the quran and all of His creations,
open up their secrets to them=)

(3:190) "Verily in the creation of the heavens and the
earth, and in the alteratnation of night and day,
there are indeed signs of men of understanding"

subhanallah..wut a nikmat to be given the understanding
of the Quran.. but ultimately, to feel the greatness of
Allah SWT, to feel the majesty of His Words alone..

ya Allah..
how awesome it would be to be able to feel that way..

may You include us as those who He desires to

Yesterday marked a historical event
in my life!!

i got my first saman!! O_o
and pretty much hoping it'd be the last..

thanx to KL's confusing road,
i langgar-ed a red light =p
(yeah..blame KL's road..
heheh)

Alhamdulillah had a dear friend with me,
else i might've been too shaken to
even remember the way home..
1st time laa katakan..
wut can i say, im too innocent ^_^
hee..

but..
200bucks!!

for ONE silly mistake!!

ada hikmah sebalik semua yg
berlaku..after the lil incident i made sure
i adhered to every traffic light!
even in bangi!!
(hehe..and thats a big deal ok!
cz bangi's traffic lights are usually
langgar-able)

one mistake..200 bucks..
and im gona make sure i don't repeat it
(insyaAllah)

why is it that 200 bucks cudve scared me
into not repeating the mistakes,
but the thought of being punished with hell fire
does not have the same impact?

shouldn't the latter be even more scarier
to someone who claims to be a muslim?

i came across,

"KAMU ADALAH DENGAN INI DIPERINTAHKAN
supaya hadir sendiri atau melalui peguam di hadapan
Mahkamah Majistret di Jln Raja Kuala Lumpur pada
3 April 2007 pukul 9.00 am"

On the Day, the earth and mountains will shake violently..
The second blowing of the trumpet follows it (and everyone will
be resurrected).
Some hearts that Day will shake with fear
and anxiety..

i ws shaking with fear and anxiety
with the mere thought of goin to court..

but subhanallah, the Day of Resurrection
will be gazillion times worse:
(73:17)..on a day that will make
the children grey-headed..

(Al-Fatihah:1-4)
In the name of Allah Most Gracious, Most Merciful..
All praises and thanks are Allah's, Lord of
the alamin..
The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful..
The only Owner of the Day of Recompense..

i was once told this extremely sweet story..

the last man that Allah
will takeout hell will come out facing hell and with heaven behind him..
he will then say to Allah SWT, "ya rabb..i beg you
to turn my body so that i can see Your heavan.."

Allah SWT said to him,"if I do so, will you ask for anything else?"
the man:"no..i promise you, ya Rabb..i will not"

so Allah turned him so that he faced His syurga..
enticed by the magnificence and beauty of syurga,
he yearned ever so much to go near it..

so again he asked Allah,"ya rabb..i beg you
let me come near Your heaven.."
again Allah said,"if I do so, will you ask for anything else?"
the man:"no..i promise you, ya Rabb..i will not"
and by Allah's grace, Allah brought him nearer..

smellin the sweetest scent from heaven, seeing
the joy that heaven held, the beauty beyond
one's mind, the man couldnt contain himself..

so again he asked Allah,"ya rabb..i beg you
let me into your heaven.."
and (this is sooo sweet..i almost cried
when hearing this..) Allah said,"enter my
dear slave with much joy..and ask you from Me
anything that you desire.."

This is how Allah treated the last man
that would come out from hell..how would
Allah treat the man that would be foremost in
entering syurga? Subhanallah..

indeed, All praises and worship are His.
Ar-Rahman..Ar-Rahim..

Let us make much prayer that He would
save us from the torment of hell-fire..
Only He can save us from the torment of
Akhirat..
On the day that,
(70:11-14)
"...the Mujrim (sinner, disbeliever) would desire
to ransom himself from the punishment of that Day
by his children, and his wife and his brother, and his kindred
who sheltered him..and all that are in the earth,
so that it may save him.."

all those we love now; our family, friends,
our wealth, on that Day we would only desire
to give away all these so that we would no longer
feel the torture of that Day..

a mighty scary feeling..

even the description of hell in the quran
is terrifying..
ya Allah,
(Al-Fatihah:6-7)
Guide us to the straight way..
The way of those whom You have bestowed Your Grace,
not of those who earned You Anger, nor of those who
went astray..

a reminder to myself too, let us be real muslims
as Allah has said in:
(3:110) You (muslims) are the best of peoples
ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma'ruf
and forbid Al-Munkar, and believe in Allah..

do we really do these things to to qualify as what Allah has
described as "being the best of peoples ever raised
for mankind" ?

the last requirement 'believe in Allah'
the arabic was actually tukminuna billah..
Allah referred to those who were mukmin, not muslims..
huhu..are we included as those who are mukmin?

(8:2) The mukmin's are only those who when Allah
is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and
when His verses are recited unto
them, they increase their faith
and they put trust in their Lord

ya Allah..guide us to the straight way..
if You do not guide us, then indeed we
will be among those who are lost..

ya Allah, may we prevail herein and hereafter..
indeed, You are the Most Gracious, Most Merciful,
Most Powerful and Oft-Forgiving..

guide us to the straight way, ya Allah..
guide us to the straight way, ya Rahman..
guide us to the straight way, ya Rahim..

(3:191)..Rabbana, You have not created all this
without purpose..Glory to You..and save us from
the torment of hellfire..

You have made my receiving of a traffic ticket
without purpose..
Glory to You..
and save me from the torment of hellfire...

Allah knows Best..
